Coverage & mixing basics
- Mortar types are a strength scale: Type N for general above-grade masonry, Type S where higher strength or below-grade work is specified, Type M for the heaviest loads. Match the spec, not habit.
- Bagged concrete is sold by weight and yields a fixed volume per bag. Take the pour's length × width × depth, convert to cubic feet, and we convert that to bags off the manufacturer's yield.
- Portland cement, lime and sand mixed on site follow the proportions in the spec (ASTM C270 for mortar). Tell us the proportion and the total volume and we size each component.
- Additives — accelerators, retarders, plasticizers, bonding agents — are dosed per bag. Confirm the dose on the product data sheet before you batch.

Do you sell cement and mortar by the pallet?+
Yes. Pallet pricing on cement, mortar and concrete mix, and single bags when you only need a few. Ask for both prices when you call.
Which mortar type should I use?+
Use whatever the drawings or the engineer specify. As a rule of thumb, Type N covers most above-grade work and Type S is used where more strength or below-grade exposure is called for. When in doubt, bring the spec to the counter.
Do you have colored mortar or color packs?+
Yes. Color packs for mortar and natural stucco finishes are stocked and can be custom-matched to a sample. Order the whole job at once for a consistent color.
